About Cobb County Chapter

Welcome from our Chapter President!

President's Message

Welcome to the Cobb County Chapter website!  We are ready for a great new year in the Cobb County Chapter of the IAAP!  If you are not already a member, please take a few minutes to look over our website and find out why you might want to join our chapter!  We're going to have some challenges and some wonderful opportunties, as well.  Our theme for th e year, "Passion & Purpose" really denotes what this organization is all about.  We are all passionate about the organization and certainly see the purpose in being a part of it.  The networking and education that we can gain from the organization are of great value to all of us!

Our Division's tagline to our theme is "Beacon of Professionalism".  All of us are beacons for this great organization and  want to shine that beacon out to everyone to show them how being a part of this organization can benefit them in ways they could never imagine!  The courses offered, the information disseminated, the networking events, being certified...these are just some of the excellent reasons to be a part of IAAP®.

Our chapter meetings are held every 4th Monday of the month at 6:00 pm.  We hold them at the Marriott Courtyard on Windy Hill Rd. in Marietta.  Detailed information can be found if you click the "Meetings and Events" tab.  We would love to have you join us!

About IAAP

The International Association of Administrative Professionals is a not-for-profit professional association for office professionals with approximately 40,000 members and affiliates and nearly 600 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to enhance the success of career-minded administrative professionals by providing opportunities for growth through education, community building and leadership development. The association founded in 1942 as the National Secretaries Association to provide a professional network and educational resources for secretarial staff. The association's name was changed in 1998 to the International Association of Administrative Professionals to encompass the large number of varied administrative job titles and recognize the advancing role of administrative support staff in business and government.

Our core values:
  • Integrity: We demonstrate this cornerstone of our profession through honesty, accountability and high ethical standards.
  • Respect: We create respect within our profession and association through listening, understanding and acknowledging member feedback.
  • Adaptability: We ensure the success of our association by embracing positive change and by nurturing diversity, creativity and visionary thinking.
  • Communication: We cultivate and maintain excellence by remaining approachable at all levels, communicating openly and building strong relationships.
  • Commitment: We are steadfast in our goals to develop learning opportunities for career-minded administrative professionals and to strengthen efficiency and effectiveness.
