Message from the President
Edwenna Morales-Rodriguez
2011-2012 President, Cobb County Chapter
Happy New Year!
I hope your holidays were excellent and you are charged up for the new year! The beginning of our fiscal year was quite exciting with new members, visitors, great programs and an awesome holiday and anniversary celebration. The second half promises new and engaging information as a continuum to our learning and growing towards REMARKABLE!
January’s program is an interesting look at the Mobile Learner and how the education system is becoming more and more technology-oriented. Classrooms now have smart boards in addition to computers. Students will be going paperless if this group from the iSchool Initiative at Kennesaw State University has anything to do with it! As the number of adult learners continue to grow, we are also affected by this innovative way of going to school. Come learn how it will ultimately affect you in the workplace and as a learner, your children, your children’s children.
I hope you to see you there! Join us on
Monday, January 23rd at the Courtyard Marriott. RSVP your confirmation to attend to
correspondingsecretary@iaap-cobbcounty.org. Our Georgia Division President, Barbara Wiley, will be in attendance.
Programs/Topics in the works for the coming months are Your Financial Health, Getting the Best Out of Your Skill Tank, Developing a Killer Elevator Speech. You’ll also be getting news shortly about a weekend workshop we have in the works!
We’re working hard to bring you valuable programs that address the myriad of conditions in our profession. You never know when you will be affected by change and/or opportunity. My advice is to keep your head up, stay abreast of conditions and always, always grow your network and net WORTH! IAAP offers you all of that. Take advantage through participation. As they say in the lottery, “You gotta be in it to win it!”
